Dear Friend,

It is with great honor and pride that I serve on the board of the Ruby Bridges Foundation. Our mission is to help realize Ruby’s vision and establish a school in the William Frantz Elementary building where a diverse student body will be taught a social justice and leadership curriculum. As Ruby says, “Racism is a grown up disease; let’s stop using children to spread it.” How better to do this than by creating a new kind of learning institution and in what better place than at the school she helped to desegregate?

The task is an arduous one, as are all goals worth accomplishing. This is not only Ruby’s passion, but it is our collective obligation to the future.
